Holidays 2009

I was quite the jet setter this holiday season. I spent Thanksgiving in Dallas for my Uncle David's wedding and Christmas in Vail, Beaver Creek and Austin. Here are a few pictures from all the festivities.

Christmas
I spent 6 days in Vail and Beaver Creek with my family. We enjoyed the snow, ate a lot, and I even skied a little!

Dad and I are ready for our snowmobile ride!

The Christmas Tree in our hotel lobby was amazing!

Happy New Year!!

Its a new year and I am going to try my hardest to update my blog on a regular basis. Here are a few pics of my apartment (with furniture).

The Living Room I put this end table/shelf together all by myself!

The fireplace. Unfortunately it is not a working fireplace so we put a bunch of candles in there, it's almost like the real thing.

Movin on Up

After almost a month of searching, my roommate and I signed the lease on a new apartment. Rents in NYC are much lower than usual right now, so we were able to find a great place in our price range. We are still on the Upper East Side, in an area called Yorkville. Tour new building is on a nice side street with lots of trees and pre-war brownstones. The apartment is so cute, with a (faux) fireplace, lots of windows, and a great eat-in kitchen. I cannot wait to move in on October 1st. Below are a few photos of the apartment before I work my magic.

Bachelorette Weekend!

My best friend is getting married so we had to have a weekend long bachelorette party to celebrate. Friday night we stayed in the city, played games and had a dance party. Saturday night we went to Atlantic City and had a great time. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Somehow, we all ended up with side ponytails.

It was a great weekend but I was in need of a very long nap.

A Day at the Market

Today was a beautiful day in the city. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping and the temperature was above 50 degrees. My roomate and I decided to take advantage of the amazing weather and head down to the green market in Union Square.

The green market has all kinds of local vendors. Fruit, veggies, plants, wine, cheese...you name it, they got it.

St. Patty's Day

St. Patrick's Day in NYC is a big deal. Every year there is a parade that goes up Fifth Avenue. Luckily, my office is only a couple of blocks from 5th so I was able to run out during lunch and catch part of the parade. My favorite part is definitely the bag pipers.

Here I am at the parade with my green st. patty's day bag.

I also enjoy the hundreds and hundreds of firemen who walk in the parade every year.
